Remember when I went to Nashville in June? Well we recorded a song while I was there! Tractor Supply and Kat&Alex, my mentors, selected me based on my submission of my original song “Foundation”. I went to Blackbird Studios – the same exact room where Taylor Swift recorded her Red album – and recorded my song with professional Nashville musicians and engineers. This track is a completely new version of ‘Foundation’. The only similarity to the original version I recorded with Rob Gardner is the lyrics and the melody! I decided to make this version raw a folky so we laid guitar, piano, banjo, drums and stomps onto the track. We decided not to add any harmonies or extra vocals, just the main melody line.
